Pre-Sleep Technique
Advertisers spend BIG money to get you to do their bidding. Spend a little time creating your own advertising slogan that you can use to reprogram your mind, literally overnight.
Since you are going to spend the next 5-8 hours with yourself, make it count!
Give yourself time to learn this technique, establish a pattern, and then a little more time for the suggestions you create to take hold. This valuable tool can be used in many ways, and is well worth practicing and learning well. Enjoy!
- Starting tonight and continuing for the next 14 nights, just as you lay your head on your pillow, but before you drift off to sleep, give yourself the following suggestion
20 times.
“Every day, in every way, I am better and better.”
- Every time you say or think the statement, touch your thumb to a different finger, as follows:
- first use your right hand for 5 repetitions,
- then switch to the left hand;
- then to your right hand again, and
- finally finish the count on your left hand.
Counting off this way makes it easy to pick up the count again if you happen to drift off to sleep before you reach the count of 20. If you don’t complete exactly 20 repetitions, at least you will be within 2 or 4 of the right amount.
This may be your first attempt at learning to effectively program your mind through pre-sleep suggestions. It is of the utmost importance to do this every night, before you fall asleep.
After you have used the statement above for 14 nights, feel free to experiment and try crafting your own statement. Keep these thoughts in mind:
- Practice the above statement first to develop the habit.
- When you create your own statement, be sure to follow the Rule of Three and keep it SIMPLE, POSITIVE, and in the PRESENT TENSE.
Practice with this one and for 14 nights. Then in two weeks, make up your own phrase that is short, positive, and in the present tense. Let me know when you are ready for the next step!
